Roles In Thinkspace
Thinkspace uses role-based access to control and grant permission to certain features that a user can see or do on the platform. Roles are defined based on an organizational level and can be categorized into 2 types: Admins and Normal Users. Some of the user roles may be inter-dependent and require a paid license.
User Roles
- Admins are users who have extended rights to launch challenges, collect ideas, evaluate ideas, decide winning ideas and manage teams, users, organization admins and settings. They have access to all features on the platform according to their subscription plan. There can be multiple Organization Admins.
- Normal Users (Employees) are users who are invited to a team of the Organization as employees and have access to features related to idea participation. They can see and take part in their Team Challenges by creating, editing, sharing ideas with other users on the platform and manage individual account settings.
- Normal Users (Non-employee) are users who register on the Organization Thinkspace platform and have access to features related to idea participation. They can see and take part in Open Challenges only by creating, editing, sharing ideas with other users on the platform and manage individual account settings.
These user roles can be granted by the Admins directly via invitation or indirectly via editing the user settings at the user management.

Account Lockout
Thinkspace limits the number of failed login attempts for security reasons. We always do our best in ensuring information safety and integrity through established security measures.

Account Lockout Policy
The account lockout policy applies to all Thinkspace accounts and user roles using email-password pair. Users logging in through their SSO service providers will not be affected.
After 5 consecutive failed login attempts, you will be temporarily locked out of your Thinkspace account. When your account is locked, you will not be able to login even with the correct email-password pair. The lock lasts for an hour on average, or longer depending on the lock duration customized by the administrator of your organization. Customization is only provided to the administrators for greater flexibility of setting the number of consecutive failed login attempts as well as the lock duration.
Once your account gets locked, you will receive an email with a verification code to unlock your account on your next login. Kindly wait until the lock duration expires, then login using your email-password pair. Upon successful login, you will be prompted to provide the verification code and change your password. All previous failed login attempts will be reset.

If the lock does not clear after an hour,
- Wait for an hour.
- After an hour has passed, attempt to login to your account.
- Check your email for verification code to unlock your account and reset your password. If you can't remember your password, you can reset a new password.
- If you don’t receive the verification code and face difficulty logging in to your account, please contact the administrator of your organization to manually unlock your account.
